A Conversation with Dr. Sarah Y. Vinson on Supporting Youth Mental Health

This year, an unprecedented Surgeon General's declaration of a youth mental health crisis reified the message our nation's youth have been telling us for years - their mental health is in peril and we must act. On May 12, 2022, Harvard-trained Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Y. Vinson spoke about the genesis of this crisis, identified approaches to address it, and issued a call to action for all in attendance. She emphasized the importance of a societal commitment to the support of families and communities that set youth on a trajectory toward health. Watch the full presentation.

Parenting in a Pandemic

This webinar series, produced by Family Service Agency and the Santa Barbara Unified School District, introduces self-care strategies for parents/caregivers who may be experiencing stress and/or depression during this pandemic. We explore tools parents can use to practice mindfulness and being present in order to better support their adolescents. We also provide community resources if additional support is needed.
